Baby Olympics

Inspired by the start of the 2008 Summer Olympics this weekend, Anthony donned his Team USA T-shirt and spent the weekend going for the gold, baby style.

First, he took part in a little toy-smacking, perhaps in preparation for a future as a volleyball star? Or maybe he's just getting ready for those days when he can throw things from his high chair or stroller and then laugh as Brandon and I run about retrieving them.

Then, he moved onto that all-time baby favorite, rolling over. As mentioned before, he can only make it onto his side, but he's getting there. We'll give him the silver for now.

Anthony has an outfit for every occasion, he is really with it! Oooh, he is having lots of fun playing with Mom, he really seems to like batting that rattle around and having you push it back to him. And he is going for the gold in the rollover, getting closer all the time! What fun! Grandpa and I are planning lots of activities for our playtime with him soon!

Yes, volley ball looks promising. Or maybe a boxer. You use your fists for that, too. He will be athletic no doubt about it. Still leaves a little to be desired in his gymnastic ability, but with practice he will make it real soon. Rolling over will be the first step, then look out. Won't be so long til he will be swinging and jumping from things. Hey, as hefty as he is maybe he will be a weightlifter or discus thrower. Of course this family loves wrestling (also an Olympic sport) so lets not leave that idea out. There are all sorts of possibilities. Just keep working out and practicing, Anthony. Any sport will be just fine. You are getting there. Love you all. Shirley

Shirley, You're "surely" dreamin" if you think he's gonna be a good athlete. Let's just hope he does his homework.

Maybe Anthony will be a movie stuntman when he grows up? Lots of athletic ability involved in that kind of career too!

I give him a 9.3 in the Rollover Event. Hee hee!

ADORABLE videos! Anthony is doing so well and looks so good. Seeing videos and pictures of him on the blog really do help when we can't see him so often in person.
Can't wait for the next ones. He'll soon be 2 months old officially so I know there will be one that day too. Yeah!!!

Hugs and Kisses to Anthony...

Love,
Grandma Char
