What are things that roll over?

DING DING DING DING DING!

After weeks of trying, Anthony has learned to roll over from his back to his stomach! We watched him get closer and closer for days, but each time he literally got held up on one little arm that stayed stubbornly stuck under his body. Finally, on Sunday, he gathered the strength to pull that arm out from underneath him and pop himself up on his elbows. Upon doing so, he flashed the happiest little grin I've ever seen -- while Brandon and I cheered like idiots and the cat stalked away, no doubt thinking, "Big deal, I've been able to do that since birth."

Anyway, below is a video of a subsequent effort at rolling over. A warning and apology -- this video is really, really, really long. See, this is a very NEW skill for Anthony, and he isn't exactly good at it...by which I mean he takes FOREVER to actually get from point A to point B.

So, unless you are seriously bored, or you just really like watching Anthony (hi grandma and grandpa!), feel free to start the video, get up and go to the fridge for a beer, find out there's no beer left, go to the store for a six-pack, drive back home, put the six-pack in the fridge to chill, go back to the fridge, get yourself a cold beer then get back to your computer just in time to sit down, open your beer, take a sip (or two) and watch Anthony complete his effort.

Or, just take my word for it, and enjoy the cute picture above -- the end result of Anthony's roll.

A suggestion for those blog readers , who, like me, do not drink beer, and are not AJ's grandparents: just slide the little circle under the video to the middle and watch the climax and the denouement. It's like reading the Cliffs Notes version.

Love,
Amanda

Ha ha, thanks for the suggestion, Amanda, for the Readers Digest Condensed version of The Rollover! We grandparents of course needed to see every second of the struggle. And victory! If only Congress would work as hard as babies do....anyway, congratulations, Anthony! You wouldn't give up, and you succeeded!

It just about wore the poor little guy out.I don't drink beer either. It was a great pleasure to watch every minute of the video to witness Anthony's great accomplishment. I love to hear him during those videos, too, since I don't get to see or hear him in person. Like music to my ears. I am not Anthony's grandma but I am his great aunt and I am thrilled with all this, too. He is a dolly. Love him so. Looks like Dad was taking up most of the blanket space. Are you a blanket hog Brandon? At least I thought that is what that rather large bump was next to Anthony struggling for space and had to end up on the floor mostly. Great job, Anthony! Looking forward to the next "trick". You are growing so fast.Soon the blankets won't be big enough and you will be all over the floor. Love you all. Shirley
