The Greatest Toe on Earth

It's week one of the NFL season -- a big event in the sports-obsessed Josephsen household -- but Anthony totally stole the show with his first episodes of sustained laughter. The cause? That old baby classic of having your foot in your mouth. Anthony can't quite achieve this "feet" on his own just yet, so dad lent a helping hand. The little guy found it pretty amusing -- way more entertaining than, say, Brett Favre making his first start as a New York Jet.

Anthony also helped me celebrate my birthday Thursday by making the trip to Key Biscayne to join me for lunch. Indeed, I knew I was a mom when someone asked what I wanted for my birthday, and, instead of replying with something sane like "jewelry" or "perfume," I said, "I want Anthony to come see me at lunch." I'm pretty sure I remember thinking my own mother was crazy when she'd declare birthday wishes like, "I just want you two girls to get along so we can have a nice day as a family." But I guess I'm starting to know what she was getting at. (But I still like jewelry and perfume, too, if anyone's taking notes).

Anyway, here's the little family in Key Biscayne, after enjoying lunch at the waterfront "Boaters Grill."

In other good news, we once again appear to have dodged a bullet, with Hurricane Ike moving south and away from the Miami area. This one actually had us a little worried, as for a while it appeared to be heading straight for us. But, it looks like we're now out of the danger zone -- which Anthony is especially happy about, as he didn't want bad weather to disrupt his visit with Grandma Char, who gets into town Monday.

Now that is really really cute! Little Anthony is becoming quite the little character. Just seeing him laugh makes us laugh too. So Brandon, keep on entertaining him, and he will entertain us! I, for one, would much rather watch Anthony than a football game!

Thoroughly enjoyed the cute video of Anthony laughing. He is so adorable and I can't wait to personally get him to laugh like that this week. The family picture is really good of all three of you.

See you Monday evening.

Love,
Grandma Char

I can't quit laughing either. What is it that makes a baby's laughter so infectious? Must be that they are so innocent and spontaneous. Just makes you feel good. And he had that gleam in his eyes. Just adorable. It is a 100 times better than a football game. What a special birthday you had, Kelly. What more could you ask for? Hats off to Brandon, too, for making it happen. Beautiful family you have. Love you all. Shirley
P.S. Anthony, tell Grandma Char Hi for me when she gets there. And I hope she will give you an extra squeeze for me.

I'm just surprised Mom didn't take Anthony to the game. I mean, c'mon, it's Brett Favre! Live, and in person (okay, would have been from many, many yards away, but still...)! Did the Dolphins actually sell this game out?
Looks like little Anthony already has his Dad's trait of sticking his foot in his mouth.
