Baby's Got a New Pair of Shoes!

Anthony, Mom and Dad, and Grandma Char attended Anthony's first-ever open house this Wednesday, checking out his daycare center, where he starts "classes" next week. As Anthony wants to be part of the cool crowd at school, he insisted on a big boy outfit, complete with shorts, a long-sleeved T-shirt, and shoes. Even though the shoes were a bit big on his little feet, they looked pretty darn cute!

The open house was great, and made us happier than ever with our daycare choice. We learned that Anthony will be the youngest baby in the crowd, which we hope buys him some extra attention. Also, at least for the first few months, there will only be five or six babies for the three teachers to deal with, making for an excellent ratio! Best of all, the head teacher is extremely nice, and seems to have a genuine love for children. We feel like we'll be leaving our little guy in good hands, and we hope he makes friends with little Jamieson or Gabriella or Andrew or some of the other names we saw on the nursery's bulletin board.

So, as Anthony prepares to head off into the big world, he's enjoying his last week at home with Grandma Char. She's keeping him busy, moving him from toy to toy as is his preferred lifestyle. He's loving his baby gym, a gift from Lynn and Jim -- he can really grab at the dangling fishes now, which makes him happy! And today Grandma let him try out one of his "big boy" toys -- his Baby Einstein play center, a gift from Nancye and Lia. Although Anthony still needed grandma's supervision to use the play center -- it is for big four-month-olds, after all -- he loved grabbing at the toys and checking things out.

See, things are going to work out just fine. He will have playmates and lots of things to stimulate his mind. There is something to be said about children being around other children to help them with their social skills. Mom will adjust too. Glad you went to check things out. Now your mind can be at ease. He does look pretty grown up in those clothes and shoes. Gees, he is going to be 3 months old on Sunday already. He will be throwing footballs around soon. Oh, hey, Grandma Char. I know you are taking good care of Anthony and loving every minute of it. How are you going to pull yourself away to go home? Distance is not easy on Grandparents. Love you all. Shirley

Anthony is pretty darn cute!! It has been such fun being here with him and getting the chance to take care of him during the daytime hours. I am amazed at how social and curious he seems to be at such a young age.
You are exactly right, Shirley. It will be hard to leave him but we'll be back in Miami in October!:)

Happy 3-month birthday, Anthony! You do look like a big boy ready to go to school on Tuesday. It sounds like the Daycare is really nice, and it will be fun to watch the other older babies and learn new tricks for Mom and Dad! We miss you very much!
