With mom heading back to work Tuesday, little Anthony hasn't missed a beat, happily hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa Lantau. The first day leaving Anthony was pretty tough, even though I knew Grandma and Grandpa were going to dote on the little guy even more than I do. I mean, they actually think it's CUTE when Anthony gets fussy, and VOLUNTEER to change diapers, so there was no doubt in my mind that he was in kind, loving hands. Still, tears were shed, all of them mine. But, being back at work feels good, and, as the above pictures suggest, Anthony seems pretty happy with the arrangement.
Meanwhile, Anthony also showed what a good boy he is by getting mommy a birthday card! Look at the photo above -- he even wrote "mommy" on the envelope all by himself. Yes, my 26th is tomorrow (it's my blog, I can lie if I want to), and Anthony made sure to remember the occassion, even being thoughtful enough to give me his card tonight because he knows the pre-work morning rush can be a chaotic time. What a guy!
Anyway, in closing, here's a shot of me and Anthony on my return from work that first day. He was indeed in a fine mood, even rewarding us all by FINALLY giving a repeat performance of his front-to-back rollover. In all, it was a very happy reunion, to be sure.
Grandma and Grandpa swear Anthony is a dream child to babysit, but, remember, they think it's CUTE when he's fussy and VOLUNTEER to change diapers, so I'm not sure I believe them. In any case, Anthony is enjoying his week with his grandparents, and is looking forward to spending next week with Grandma Char.
Then, it's off to daycare...and off to another crying spree for mom, no doubt.

Well, happy birthday, Kelly! What ever year it is. I guess I never knew when your birthday is. You are a young thing still and look very young. Anthony will get along just fine. Hardest on Mom I think but you will adjust. Hey, if the governor of Alaska can do it, you can do it. LOL. Really, though, don't worry so much. You'll make yourself crazy. Bet Grandpa and Grandma are having a great time this week. And Grandma Char will next week. I know she can hardly wait. Sweet pic of you and Anthony. All of them are. Hang in there Kelly. Anthony, you were such a good boy for Grandma and Grandpa! We miss you and it just didn't feel right this morning, waking up in Freeport and not seeing your sweet smiling face. Hope you enjoyed Book Club with the other babies on Saturday, and soon you will be playing with Grandma Char!
