Hitting the Bottle

Anthony was so completely focused on playing with this empty Publix water bottle last night when he got home. And after dinner. And during his bath. And this morning. He grabs the lid (yes it can fit through a toilet paper roll, the kid's happy, leave me alone) and then tries to put it back on the bottle and he's concentrating SO HARD and he FINALLY gets it on and then he gets SO MAD because he can't get it back off even though getting it on is exactly what he was trying to do in the first place.

And then...lather, rinse, repeat, he does it all over again. And again. And again. Keeps him busy for hours.

Empty Publix water bottles. I highly recommend them.

OK, what if I don't have Publix water bottles. Will Schnucks bottle work the same?

Cute picture and video! Anthony sure does know when to "take a drink" and then put the lid back on. Can't wait to watch him do this in person next week!

Love and kisses,
Grandma Char

Ellen -- nope, won't work. I guess you, Justin, Bradley and Matthew will just have to come to Miami to pick up some Publix bottles and visit us while you're at it!

Anthony looks like he's got some good coordination skills, being able to twist the lid on and off. Pretty soon he'll discover jars in the kitchen that he can open, like peanut butter, jelly, milk cartons, etc. That will be even more fun when he realizes they contain food!

Love, Aunt Kerry

This reminds me of when he was first learning to roll over, and how mad he would get til he mastered the feat! He does have stick-to-itiveness for sure. Yeah, Kerry's right--just think how thrilled he would be if you put a jar of peanut butter out for him to play with! Could be a little messy, I guess....

He is really observant. As Char said he takes off the lid, takes a quick drink, puts the lid back on. Too bad the lid can be so dangerous as you really couldn't just leave him alone to do it. Once in a while he forgets and starts to put that in his mouth and realizes that wasn't what he planned to do. He really does work at figuring things out. When Kerry mentioned the peanut butter jar, it reminded me of Jeremy when he was little like that. I had a very large jar of honey in a bottom cupboard because that is the only place it fit. I was standing right there doing dishes one day and I never even noticed that he had gotten that thing out and gotten the lid screwed off and there he was sitting in the middle of a whole jar of honey licking his fingers. Well actually almost shoveling it in his mouth. What a sweet treat that was. Not so nice cleaning up. Ultra stickiness. And it was a carpeted kitchen (a rented house). I scrubbed and scrubbed and scrubbed. But that spot is where the ants would collect so I guess you can never get that all out. So look out what you put in lower cupboards. LOL. Love you all. Shirley
