Unfortunately, with such fascinating new things to play with, Anthony is having trouble sleeping at night. He does a great job getting to bed -- I hope I'm not jinxing his one nighttime positive by saying this, but the kid usually falls asleep at 7 pretty much without a fight -- but he's having a heck of a time staying there.
A friend told me about something called the "four month wakeful period," in which babies of that age become more aware of the world around them, and therefore start to want playtime to extend into the overnight hours.
Four months is about when Anthony's problems really began, so maybe that's what's going on. Unfortunately, in Anthony's case, the phenomenon shows every sign of turning into the "five month wakeful period," as his five-week birthday is less than a week away.

So cute! I'll bet you and Brandon are both so tired. Have you tried giving him a bath around 6:30 before bedtime, maybe with some lavendar scented soap? And maybe let him stay in the tub a little longer to really get the full effect of the warm water. Anyway, it is probably a phase that will pass soon! He has a lot to process in that busy little mind of his. Good luck tonight!
Those feet look rather large. LOL. Big feet for big boys. It is funny how feet are so important to those little guys. For playing with and chewing on. And how they can be so bendable as to be able to put them in their mouth is something. Sorry about the night wakenings. Not so much fun. Hopefully it will be short lived. Congratulations, Anthony, on the new little boy cousin. He is sure a pretty baby. What beautiful children you Josephsen boy produce. Hopefully some of that came from the Josephsen side of the family. Enjoy your Florida weather. We are getting our first taste of winter for the season. Had a skiff of snow here on Friday and some spitting snow Sat. Got pretty cold and windy. Down to 20 last night and tonight we are supposed to get freezing rain and slippery roads in the morning. Yuck. That's Iowa for you. At least we didn't get what they got in the Dakotas. Now that is winter. You at least don't have so much bundling to do in the winter. Love you all. Shirley
